SUMMARY
The Senior Robotics Engineer aims to transform robotics by creating robots with human level performance on real-world surgical tasks. This includes passion in changing the world with science and software engineering to the Robotics Infrastructure team at TDS. This position will will work on tools and infrastructure that span the entire codebase, and shape the architecture of our overall robotics and AI platform. This role may build and maintain tools used across the robotics codebase and drive projects related to systemwide architecture and processes. This role includes identifying code and workflow improvements that will enhance the productivity of robotics engineers across the company as well as ensuring that we have a well architected infrastructure and platform that are a joy to work with. Candidate must have a solid understanding of Kinematics and Dynamics, and Linear Optimization techniques.
SALARY AND PAY TRANSPARENCY
Salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000. Base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and all applicable company benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Developing the algorithms and SW systems for the next generation of surgical robots.
- Identifying, designing and implementing new control modes and software features for TDS's state of the art robotic system.
- Implementing and testing your code with hardware, troubleshooting bugs and implementing feature enhancements for the existing control modes.
- Designing automated robotic systems that are used to increase the precision within for surgical positioning and processes
- Analyzing and evaluating the prototypes and robotic systems we have created.
- Reviewing and approving cost estimates and design calculations
- Serving as technical support for the robotic use in the product
- Teaching plans paths to robots
- Performing research into the design, operation and performance of robotic mechanism components or systems

Education/Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Language
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Additional Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent.
The following software knowledge is also required:
Programing Languages: C++ / C
Experience with standard programming concepts, best-practices, and procedures
Broad knowledge of engineering concepts (EE, ME, SW, data analysis, modeling)
